Television’s finest came together at the Microsoft Theatre last night for the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
The Emmys honour the best in television, and 2016 was certainly a great year for tv. Ranging from fantastical dramas like Game of Thrones to politically-charged comedies such as Veep, last night was a big night for all of our favourite celebrities that grace the small screen. The big winners were Game of Thrones and Veep as mentioned, as well as Transparent and The People vs. O.J. Simpson.
While the awards show itself was entertaining as always (if you haven’t watched the highlights yet, you have to watch the kids from Stranger Things hand out peanut butter & jelly sandwiches to the audience), it’s the red carpet fashion that we’re really interested in.
The Emmys red carpet saw it all last night! Emilia Clarke, Sofia Vergara, and Kristen Bell stunned in subtle nude gowns, while Sarah Paulson, Tina Fey, and Priyanka Chopra lit up the carpet with their vibrant hues.
Sarah Hyland rocked a gown/pantsuit combo, and don’t even get me started on Kerry Washington’s gorgeous maternity look…
Oh and you know the rule about not wearing white after Labour Day? Apparently that does not apply to celebrities. Tracee Ellis Ross, Michelle Dockery, and Emmy Rossum all rocked gorgeous stark white floor-length gowns at this year’s Emmys, inspiring us all to keep wearing our favourite white ankle pants from summer.
