Why Self Care Is So Important | Best Boudoir Photography Toronto
Have you ever heard the saying, ” You can’t pour from an empty cup”? This saying is so very true. If you are like me I wear many hats through out my day. Wife, mom, grandma, business owner and the list goes on. We must find 1-2 hours a week minimum to do something that we enjoy doing.
I love to read books that resonate positive thinking, mind body connection, happy thoughts. This gets me into a great mind set and helps me focus on what I need to do, with a happy positive frame of mind. I also love to practice yoga and go for long walks alone. What do you love doing? Find that thing, that makes your heart feel happy.
I want you to know that giving back to yourself isn’t selfish at all.. Some women get down on themselves with this thought sometimes. We are doers, we are nurturers, we are a lot of things to a lot of people. Finding that time for ourselves will be our sanity in busy times.
I am going to challenge you! For the next month, once a week for 1 hour I want you to do something just for you. Schedule it into your calendar just like you would a doctors appointment. This way you will be sure to figure out what you will do with your time, and actually do it.
3 Benefits to practicing self care
1.You will become a happy person
This will happen without you even knowing it. Feeling happy will allow you to feel less edgy and have more to give, in all parts of your life. Wanting to give to other areas of your life will come naturally as a result of having spent the time doing something great for yourself.
2. More productive at work
As a result, you will feel more rested, because you took the time to do something for yourself. In doing so, will open up your mind for other things to flow, such as increased creativity. So book that YOU time and do something you love. Think about it for a moment, if you aren’t happy, will you have the motivation to do what needs to be done? This is exactly why we need to be filling our cup on a regular bases.
3. Enhancing your personal life and relationships
This is so true for me! For instance; being a mom and wife, I have so much to get done, it seems like I will never finish. When we practice self care, we have more patience with our loved ones. This is so key to having happy healthy relationships. Can you relate?
Are you ready to stop pouring from an empty cup? Self care is the one thing that we tend to push to the side when we have run out of time. Be sure to schedule your YOU time in this day going forward. You will be happy you did.
