Beauty Tips/Boudoir By Verveine Studios Toronto
There are lot’s of things to consider for your beauty routine leading up to your boudoir photo shoot. What about every day beauty tips. Just as important!! Agreed?
Taking Care Of Your Skin 101
Do you wear makeup to sleep at night? Big No No :). Yes, if you want clogged pours, then do this! I have a 3 step approach to taking off makeup deep down into the pours. It does make a difference to the over all look and health of your skin.
Step 1. I always remove my makeup with my favourite makeup remover Vichy Micellar Water. I love how it goes right down into your pours to give you that clean yet not tight feeling. The PH in this product matches your skin perfectly. I use a round cotton pad to go all over my face.
Step 2. Time to cleanse the skin. I then use my favourite double cleanser. Great for sensitive skin and great for have a double cleansing action, without feeling tight and drying. What is a double cleanser? It cleanses by removing makeup and dirt. So oily solutions off the face and then getting deep into pours and cleaning out impurities.
Step 3. Do step one over again to make sure that you have all of the makeup off. Once the cotton is clear, then you can add your moisturizer. I love using collagen moisturizer. Why I love collagen moisturizer. It works deep down into the skin, to help add moisture and plump up the skin. Works great on my skin.
Exfoliating Your Skin
Exfoliating your skin before your photo shoot will be key to makeup looking as flawless as possible. Sloughing off dead skin will make your skin glow and keep from looking crusty and dull.
Keeping up with an exfoliating program once a week will be a great idea! Not only to keep your skin looking smooth and glowing, but also to keep your pours from looking big. Keeping those black and white heads at bay, is another great reason to exfoliate your skin on a regular bases.
What To Use To Exfoliate Your Skin
What to use to exfoliate your skin is so important. You don’t want to use just any exfoliate on your skin. Gentle is the way to go. Harsh abrasive can damage skin if not careful. I love this soothing infusion mask. It does a few different things. It genitally exfoliates the skin and adds moisture and also repairs your skin cells and will leave your skin glowing and refreshed.
Taking Care Of Your Skin Inside Out!
This is not really talked about very often, but I want to let you know it is super important to also consider taking care of your skin from the inside out. Making sure your diet is healthy and we are eating all the good things like, veggies, proteins, fruit and good sources of healthy fats will go a long way to keeping your skin looking great for years to come.
I make sure I do all of the above. Another thing I do is take liquid collagen. Not all collagen is created equally. Things to look for in a good collagen.
Liquid is a must! The collagen molecule on powder just isn’t small enough to get to where it’s supposed to go once it’s in your body.
No Bovine! Bovine is mostly made up of a variety of ground up cow parts, not the most appetizing is it? No thanks :)
No Marine! It’s not bio-available enough to really work.
No Vegan! There are no vegan options that are really going to make a difference. The thing is, you want to get your money’s worth. I don’t like flushing my supplements down the toilet, do you?
The only collagen that I trust to do what it says its going to do is my favourite collagen, Collagen HA matrix. The most available collagen on the market. Made with free range, organic chicken sternum. The only part of an animal who’s collagen is most like our own. Been using it for the passed 4 years. I love it. Comes in 5 different yummy flavours. My fav is lemon, chocolate is also really popular. The formula I use also has a CLA component to it that I love. Helps with my hormones, especially cortisol. There is a just collagen option also, if you aren’t into CLA, both work super well and have the same bio-available collagen technology in both. This collagen also has HA in it, so it helps to plump up skin and keep it looking youthful. We also use chondroitin sulphate to help joints feel their best. One of the best adds to my beauty program ever! If you want some different flavour options, please reach out anytime, text: 647-222-6427 or email: info@verveinestudios.com I’d be happy to chat.
