6 Boudoir Outfit Tips You Don’t Want To Miss, Toronto, On
The most common questions that I get asked about is “ What do I wear?” I will add some links for you to these blog posts 1, 2 , 3 which has a lot of great info about specific outfit looks. You can also check out the Boudoir Prep Guide HERE. Let’s summarize here and dig a little deeper into what you should wear to your boudoir photo shoot. Size
Size Matters
I think that how your clothing fits, is super important. Getting things that fit to tight can possibly make the outfit look awkward in photos. Best to go up a size so that they fit, and don’t cause any fluff over top. So muffin top situation. This way you will feel more comfortable and your photo will turn out just the way you intended.
Make sure that you have the right bra for your figure type. bralettes are great if you are smaller up top and don’t have to keep the girls in place. If you are a bustier lady, then you will want to make sure that you have a well fitted bra that isn’t tight either. This way you get some nice lift and support during your photo shoot. Padded bra’s are good in some situations, in other poses, they won’t work as well. So bring a variety of options with you.
Body Suits
I absolutely love body suits as a staple for each and every boudoir photo shoot! They look great on everybody! There are so many different styles of body suits to choose from. If you have a shorter leg, you can opt for a higher cut body suit. The higher thigh cut will give the illusion of longer legs. A body suit with a higher neck line can really nicely accentuate your shoulders and collar bone area. You can also opt for a body suit that has pretty sheer sleeves, which has a classy vibe to it. You can wear a blazer, button down shirt or even a skirt over top for a different look. It’s completely up to you.
Shoes
Shoes are an important part of any photo shoot. I do have some shoes available in the studio if you don’t have any. If you would like to bring your own, you can bring in at least 1 pair of black shoes, preferably without a strap. If you have a pair that you want to showcase with a elaborate strap, feel free to bring them in. You can’t go wrong with a nude pair of shoes, they go with absolutely everything. Boots are also popular. You can bring in any style you’d like. Colourful shoes are also welcome if that is your jam!
Going Nude
I do have some clients that want nude images taken. I am completely comfortable with this. All of the images are taken with the upmost class and tastefulness. I often use a sheet, or even a faux fur to style. I also like to use an off the shoulder robe or see through top, makes for a sexy look. If you don’t want me to share these nude images online, you don’t have to worry at all. I won’t. I don’t usually post nude images anyway, just wanted to clarify:)
Accessories
Accessories can defiantly make or break an outfit. Adding the right accessories to an outfit is key for your look to come together. Chokers are great for laying down poses, simply because they will lay flat and won’t move with gravity when on your back. Long necklaces can work well for standing looks and poses. Chunky necklaces can also add an bold element if that is your style. Earrings are the same. A stud or smaller earring for laying poses will work best. Dangling earrings you can wear when you are upright and standing or sitting for each look. Having a new jewellery set for each outfit will work well. You can also bring in some body jewellery if you would like a more bare nude look. I do have a few pieces in the studio that you can use if you’d like. Body Jewellery can create a beautiful silhouette in an image. Anklets and rings are also great to bring in if this look is a one you like. Take a look at my Amazon store front HERE
Other Boudoir Outfits
Toronto Blue Jay’s Or Toronto Maple Leafs jersey’s are an option. What ever your favourite team is, they are always a hit. I do recommend a more fitted T-shirt with the team logo on it, instead of the actual jersey. The jersey can be so big it can swallow you up, especially if you are wearing your man’s shirt. It’s also great to add a bit of lace with you shirt for a softer look. You can also bring in a pair or thigh high stockings or socks to go well this look. He will surely love this.
