6 Ways To Fall In Love With Yourself

6 Ways To Fall In Love With Yourself – Best Boudoir Photography Toronto

The Struggle To Accept Myself

Ladies, this topic has been an evolving process for me. 6 ways to fall in love with yourself. Self love didn’t come naturally to me, maybe because I didn’t know who I was. I was very hard on myself most of the time. Hard on myself because of my weight and an eating disorder called bulimia. My journey to self love was a difficult road. Sharing this with you is easy now. For so long I hid my disease. I’m sharing this now not because I want you to feel sorry for me, but so that you can see that even if you are having a difficult time right now, things can get better.

The Cycle

I started my eat binge cycle with I was just 13 years old. Being a teen model at the time, I needed to stay slim. It became a vicious cycle that I wasn’t able to stop until my late 20’s. I had grown up thinking I needed to be a certain weight, a certain size in order to be pretty. I finally was done with all the struggle, and I decided to get some help. Becoming more aware of who I actually was as a person, on the inside. That was the start of my journey and my promise to take care of myself and listen to what I and needed. My amazing aunt introduced me to some great self help books. Through my own reading and self discovery, I came to realize that I was free to be any weight and shape I wanted to be. My focus on health and healthy eating habits proved invaluable and my eating disorder was finally under control. It has worked well for me. It was a struggle at first, but I kept up with the good habits and healthy mind set. Being in a healthy place for many years now, it’s a great feeling. I want to share what has worked for me, in hopes that if you are in a season of life that isn’t going the way you would like, that this can help you in some way. Here goes!!

Schedule Alone Time

I can’t tell you how important this is. I used to skip out on this step a lot. I was a young mom. I was 22 when I had my first child, I am 48 now and my youngest is 7. I have been a mom most of my life. Taking time for me, is critical for my sanity and my health. Sometime things come up and that alone time is delayed, I mean, life happens right! Try to schedule an hour to yourself a few times a week if possible. It really has been an amazing thing for my mental health and sanity lol..

Give Yourself Credit

This one can be hard right! You are plowing away at life and you are striving to reach those goals. Do you ever stop for just a second, and give yourself a pat on the back? Girl, this is so important. You are amazing and do wonderful things. You work hard, you look after others. Stop to give gratitude to yourself once a day. I give gratitude to other things twice a day. Let’s start giving some of that to ourselves.. Morning, when you wake up, before you get out of bed. I want you to just think of how amazing you are. and feel happy for being you! For being alive in this world today! You my friend are here! Celebrate that!

Allow Yourself To Evolve

You are a creature of change, so unique and ever changing all the time. Embrace the evolving woman you are. Allow yourself to be opened to knew things. Maybe those things won’t feel comfortable when you first think of them. Explore opportunities that come your way. Sometimes we over think things to a fault and forget to see a great thing that come by us. Open yourself up to new possibilities everyday.

Recognize When You Need Help

This was very hard for me at times and still is. Asking for help with something isn’t bothering people. As woman we feel the need to take everything on ourselves, but we forget that we are human and sometimes we need to off load or ask for help from someone. I am here to tell you, that it’s OK. It is actually necessary and healthy to ask for that help. So the next time that you are on the struggle bus, stop and ask for a hand. You deserve it!

Ask For What You Want & Deserve

Ask for what you want in life. write down a paragraph about the way you want your life to be. What is your dream life? Once you get your vision down on paper in a paragraph, I want you to read that paragraph every night before bed and then every morning when you wake up. I want you to read it, then I want you to visualize what you are reading. Close your eye’s and see what your dream life in front of you. Do this every morning and every night.. Do this for life. Now, over time your vision may change, that’s OK. Just adjust the paragraph to match your new vision. This is called manifestation. Or manifesting your dreams. It works. Give it a shot and then let me know what you think 🙂

Learn How To Say No To Others

Easier said then done, that’s what I used to say to myself, however I am so grateful for changing all that. It’s a must to say NO sometimes to people, to opportunities that don’t mix with our goals. How about just saying no when you have no more to give. Sometimes we can take to much onto our plate, not realizing at the time, it wasn’t a good idea, but we just couldn’t say no. I have become so much better in this regard. I am so happy that I stop and think about what it is that I want. It’s so liberating. So cheers to saying NO when you want to!!
